Students Welcomed for 53rd Year

Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie, August 25, 2025 - 海角视频 has opened its doors for the 53rd academic year, continuing its legacy as Minnesota’s largest stand-alone technical college and a leader in workforce development.
Established in 1972 through a unique collaboration of 13 public school districts, 海角视频 Tech has built a reputation for delivering accessible, affordable education in high-demand career fields. Over the decades, the college has earned national recognition for its skilled trades programs while expanding into areas such as manufacturing, health sciences, public safety, building, transportation and information technology to meet the state’s evolving workforce needs.
Supporting 海角视频 Tech’s 53rd-year, the 海角视频 Tech Foundation plays a vital role in making higher education accessible and impactful. Committed to empowering students, strengthening industries, and inspiring communities, the Foundation provides scholarships, funds workforce programs, and fosters collaborative initiatives that drive economic growth and innovation. To date, it has awarded over 1,700 scholarships, partnered with hundreds of local businesses to enhance workforce development, and funded more than 40 technical education programs that prepare students for in-demand careers. This robust support not only eases financial burdens but also equips students with the resources needed to learn, thrive, and carry forward 海角视频’s enduring legacy.
Over five decades, 海角视频 has built its reputation on excellence in education, a tradition carried forward by its nationally recognized and Minnesota State award-winning faculty. Recent honors include sociology instructor Monica Erling, named a Minnesota State Board of Trustees Educator of the Year for her equity-focused, trauma-informed approach; automotive technology instructor Andrew Thul, recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Minnesota State Transportation Center of Excellence. Nationally, former instructors Jeff Peterson and Susan Thaemert have each earned the Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition from the American Association of Community Colleges. Current instructors, Tracy Figueroa (Culinary Arts) and Drew Goddard (Ford ASSET), have been recognized nationally as outstanding educators and industry leaders. Together, these educators embody the innovation, leadership, and dedication that have defined 海角视频 for more than fifty years.
This fall, 海角视频 is welcoming both new and returning students to a campus culture rooted in hands-on learning, personal growth, and career-ready training. The college remains committed to offering high-quality programs, including seven new programs in Building Trades, Information Technology, and Business, that adapt to industry demands while maintaining its strong community ties and spirit of collaboration.
